In what could be the first major setback for Republic TV, Chaiti Narula, a business reporter at the newly launched Republic TV has resigned from the channel on Ethical Grounds.
A source of Janta Ka Reporter has said: “Of course Arnab would like the world to believe that he fired her, but that’s expected.”
This resignation of someone of the likes of Chaiti Narula, on ethical grounds, comes at a really bad time for Republic TV as Arnab Goswami is already being accused of going against the ethics of journalism. Narula has earlier worked as an anchor and a business reporter for CNN-IBN, ET Now and WION.
Republic TV became a controversy magnet much before it could even be launched. Initially, it came under fire for the people who funded it, the name Republic Itself and later on for the language used by Arnab on his show and according to source a written complaint filed with TRAI(Telecom Regulatory Authority Of India) by NBA(News Broadcasters Association) accusing Republic TV of unethical distribution practices.
The resignation of Narula on ethical grounds will give further legitimacy to the claims of Arnab’s being right-leaning, and of him going against the ethics of journalism for the benefit of BJP.
