Social media posts on Wednesday claimed that BSF whistleblower jawan, Tej Bahadur Yadav, had been killed. The Border Security Force (BSF) spokesperson and Yadav’s wife Sarmila denied these rumours according to Outlook.

Through Wednesday, several posts appeared on social media websites, Twitter and Facebook, which were shared widely. The posts used a photograph in which a jawan with a bleeding nose and eyes closed was shown. Though only a portion of the face was visible, there appeared a slight similarity in features to Yadav.

A Pakistani blogger posted it on Twitter alleging that Tej Bahadur Yadav might have killed because he exposed corruption in BSF.

Soon it went viral an many started sharing it on facebook and twitter, mostly from Pakistan.

A similar photograph had been used on other social media posts dated two weeks back. Those posts had used these photographs to show how jawans had allegedly been killed in encounters between paramilitary personnel and moaist in Sukma on 11 March.

(we regret and apologies for the below graphics pictures)

But who is the deceased jawan in the picture who has been rumored as Tej Bahadur Yadav?

The deceased is Havildar Ravi Paul of 10 Dogra Regiment who was among the men who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. He had served the army for 23 years.
