Party’s candidates win 14 of 18 seats across 7 wholesale mandis in the national capital yesterday 13th Dec 2016.
The Aam Aadmi Party Yesterday swept the APMC(Agricultural Produce Market Committee) polls as its candidates won 14 out of the total 18 seats across seven wholesale mandis in the national capital with the party terming the win as a mandate against the Centre’s demonetisation mode. Arvind Kejriwal and his party AAP was against the Demonetisation decision from the day one it was announced.
AAP Sweeping APMS polls is one of the first visible casualties for BJP after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the ban on Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes on 8th november last month.
Delhi Labour Minister Gopal Rai called this as a mandate of Delhi citizens against demonetisation while AAP’s Delhi unit convenor Dilip Pandey called this as outcome as a “semifinal” to the MCD polls.
The APMC(Agricultural Produce Market Committee) in Delhi helps in managing the sabzi mandis(Vegetable Market) in the national capital.
Interestingly, when BJP had swept Delhi Cant polls before the 2015 Assembly polls, AAP had downplayed the victory saying had nothing to do with state polls.
