PM Modi, ‘crusader of corruption’ also has distinction of having corrupt and criminal accused ministers in his cabinet

The way media and BJP have projected a ‘political coup’ in Bihar and painted the ‘New BJP-JDU’ government as a ‘Fight Against The Corruption’.

It is learnt that Nitish Kumar had tendered his resignation ending his mahagathbandhan ‘grand alliance’ with RJD and the Congress. The reason for breaking away with ‘grand alliance’ was attributed to the FIR filed against the former deputy chief minister, Tejashwi Yadav. As soon as Nitish tendered his resignation, he stake claim to form government with the support of the BJP, hours after he dramatically resigned as Chief Minister.

Can PM Modi will justify his stand on Bihar’s coup and ask the resignation of Ministers, who are charge sheeted, in Gujrat state?:

Babubhai Bokhiria, sitting minister, convicted in the Rs 54 crore illegal limestone mining case in June 2013. He still continues as a minister with portfolios of agriculture and water resources.

Parshottam Solanki, another sitting minister, charged in a Rs 400 crore fishing contracts scam. besides this, he Solanki continued to serve under Modi, Anandiben and still remains a minister under Vijay Rupani. As reported, Significantly, criminal charges have been framed against him. He also faces criminal charges in Maharashtra. Mr. Solanki was indicted by the Srikrishna Commission probing the 1993 Mumbai riots.

According to Gujarat Election Watch, six  BJP MLA are facing serious criminal charges, like murder and rape etc.

Uma Bharti, Union minister for Water Resources, who is a charged in the case of demolition of Babri Masjid case.

In Bihar,  22 ministers out of 29 in the present government have criminal cases against them i.e. 76%, A report by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) stated.

  • 09 – facing serious criminal cases against them.
  • 02 – facing attempt to murder charges under section 307 of the IPC.
  • 11 – facing cases of dacoity, theft, fraud and atrocities against them.

Twenty-four of the 78 Union ministers (or 31%) of the Narendra Modi cabinet have criminal cases registered against them till 2016. 14 of these ministers, that is 18%, have declared serious criminal cases related to murder, attempt to murder, kidnapping and crimes against women against them.

During Lok Sabha elections 2014, 98 (35%) out of 281 winners analyzed from the BJP, 8 (18%) out of 44 winners from the Congress, 6 (16%) out of 37 winners from the AIADMK, 15 (83%) out of 18 winners from the Shiv Sena and 7 (21%) out of 34 winners from the AITC have been charged with criminal cases.

 

Not only that, the new Uttar Pradesh BJP government has 20 out of 44 ministers with criminal cases against them, almost 45%.
