Locals blamed RSS behind inciting violence
In a statement to local news, MLA Er Rasheed said that RSS “goons” had fired indiscriminately on Gujjar community and injured 15 persons including a 1-year-old minor girl.
Before being deported back to Jammu, Er Rasheed while talking to media accused divisional administration of succumbing to the pressure of communal politics of Sang Parivar and said that the accused RSS goon Rakash had only yesterday returned from Gujrat after attending RSS training camp for more than two months.
He said, “It is shameful that while RSS goons coming from various places including Pathankote indiscriminately fired upon unarmed men and women, police on its arrival assisted the “goons” and beat the unarmed men and women with Lathies. It is so obvious that there is a deep nexus between the fanatic Hindu elements and the police”.
According to local news, resident of Haria Chak Tehsil Mahreen in Kathua area of Jammu Monday alleged that RSS workers fired in their village.
The locals alleged, that a 12 year old girl named Beena D/o Shahab Din and a 35 year old man namely Siraj Din and three others were injured in the firing.
They alleged that hundreds of RSS workers later in the noon gathered while the families of injured were protesting in front of police and started beating Muslims.
Scarligious act was pre-planned to incite communal violence
Quoting police statement, an incident of alleged sacrilegious act was reported at village Haria Chak resulting in sloganeering and stone pelting by two groups of people in which several persons were injured. “Sensing trouble police resorted to baton-charging and tear-smoke shelling to control the situation,” it said.
“As the news spread, around 200/300 members of one community assembled there and held protest demonstration and also blocked the road. Soon after this one person took the cow head in possession. Thereafter the gathering swelled upto 500/600 and they moved to Harya Chak Chowk in the shape of a procession,” he said.
Mr Veeri further said that local police headed by SDPO Border and SHO reached the spot and tried to pacify the protestors. “However, the protestors continued their march and on reaching Harya Chowk the gathering swelled to 700/800.
