According to earlier report  published in July 2015,  BSNL chairman confirmed the company is looking to start a subsidy within BSNL to maintain its towers.

“We already share our towers with private players. We are looking at a subsidiary company within the company. We want more focus on tower sharing. The business is small now — just Rs 200 crore. But the potential is Rs.2,000-2,500 crore annually,” Shrivastava told IANS in an interview. ”BSNL will hold majority stake in the new company. A cabinet note has already been moved.”

  1. I guess this when jio first came in market. It is not a instant decision. If you can look news for last 2 months , you can easily understood

    It’s a organize game plan.

  2. RSS/BJP has proved its worth more than Congress & other parties in serving the masters, the capitalists!
Only #Socialism to demolish the rule of parasites and their loyal henchmen!

  3. I have a better plan for Govt to become profitable and become populist also.
BSNL, MTNL should be merged with Reliance jio( reliance jio will have to just serve free calling and data facility till next election) Employees of BSNL MTNL should be posted in DOT for regulation.
ONGC, IOC,BPCL, HPCL and similar PSUs should be merged with Reliance Petrolium(Reliance will have to just sell Petrol, diesel, kerosene at aprice of just Rs 10 per liter till next election). Employees of these PSUs should posted in Petrolium Ministry for regulation.
DRDO, ISRO and similar organisations should be merged with Reliance defence (reliance will have to just supply arms and aminution to defence for free till next election) and employees of these organisations should be posted in Ministry of defence for regulation.
SBI, PNB,BOB etc should be sold out to Private sector Banks/ Reliance capital like entities (banks will have to just provide loans at 4% p.a. and deposits at 10% p.a till next elections) and employees of these organisations should be posted in RBI and MOF for regulation.
A similar plan for other sectors will do wonders and make India equal to America and the present Govt will win next election for sure.
unions should make proposal with such demands inspite of taking strike route.
Hope the niti aayog and Govt. will learn and implement these through mutual consent with unions, who will happily accept such proposals.
This is the best way to make everyone happy and proud to be indian.

  4. The next step could be merging all Navaratna Company’s into RIL
